Fab 5 Friday – April 12, 2024 Edition

Welcome to another edition of Fab 5 Friday – this time in blog form – where I share my top five obsessions of the week! It’s a little window into what’s been lighting up my world lately, from kitchen experiments to beauty finds and lifestyle updates. Let’s dive into this week’s favorites!

1. Homemade Sourdough Bread

My kitchen has transformed into a mini artisan bakery, thanks to my latest adventure into sourdough bread-making. It all started with a sourdough starter I found on Amazon (check it out here), and I haven’t looked back since. Armed with a reliable dough whisk and a sturdy proofing basket, I’m churning out loaves that have my family clamoring for more. There’s something incredibly rewarding about feeding and nurturing your starter and then watching it transform flour and water into beautiful, crusty bread. If you’re even slightly curious about bread-making, I say go for it!

2. The Quest for a Sun-Kissed Glow

With summer just around the corner, I’m chasing that healthy, sun-kissed glow without spending hours under the sun. I’ve discovered a self-tanning foam that, despite its dubious color straight out of the bottle, gives my skin a beautiful bronze glow without any orange undertones (find it here). For my face, I’m all about the Isle of Paradise’s Sunny Serum, which provides just the right amount of bronze for a natural-looking radiance (available at Sephora). It’s my secret to looking like I just came back from a beach vacation, minus the UV damage.

3. New Balance 327 – Style Meets Comfort

I’ve reignited my love for working out, and the New Balance 327s have been my faithful companions both in and out of the gym. Not only do they provide the support I need for my workouts, but they also look fantastic for everyday wear. If you’re on the lookout for sneakers that bridge the gap between performance and style, these are worth checking out.

4. Getting Ahead on Client Work

Lately, I’ve been on a mission to get ahead on client work, and it’s been a surprisingly satisfying endeavor. Knowing that I’m setting myself up for a more relaxed summer is the motivation I need to push through. Plus, having great clients who are clear about their expectations makes the whole process smoother and more enjoyable. Here’s to productivity and finding a work-life balance that allows for ample summer fun!

5. The Joy of Book Exchanges

Rounding off my Fab 5 Friday is the book exchange I’ve been doing with family and friends. We started this tradition at Christmas, and it’s been a delightful way to discover new genres and authors. There’s something special about receiving a surprise book in the mail. It’s a reminder of the power of stories to connect us, even from afar.

That’s a wrap for this week’s Fab 5 Friday! What’s been lighting up your world lately? Share your current obsessions in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!
