Robin Blackburn

Contemporary Romance & Women’s Fiction Author

Heartfelt stories of second chances, reinvention, and midlife love for women who believe it’s never too late to begin again.

My Writing

What I Write

I write stories about midlife women who are starting over, figuring things out, and learning that it’s not too late to find love. Set against the backdrop of Lake George in Upstate New York, my stories blend romance, reinvention, and the messy, hopeful reality of building a life you actually want.

Why I Write

I’ve always been a writer, but I didn’t become an author until age 56. Why then? Because I realized I wanted to read stories about women like me. I started writing at a point in life when I knew that endings aren’t really endings—they’re turning points. I’m drawn to stories about women who have lived full lives and still feel the desire for something more.

What Early Readers Are Saying

“Delightfully warm and deliciously honest, Robin Blackburn’s Second Courses serves up beautiful life lessons about the importance of confidence and self-love, proving that it’s never too late to start a bold new chapter. With prose as crisp as your favorite prosecco, you’ll devour this story of resilience, forgiveness, and the possibility that love might be sweeter the second time around.”

Suzy England, Amazon Charts bestselling author of Perfect

“Robin Blackburn’s Second Courses is the perfect balance between a midlife comeback story and a sweet, second-chance romance. This is the type of book that every woman in their 40s or 50s wants to be reading right now- a reminder that your life is just getting started, and what’s ahead may be even more exciting than anything that’s happened so far.

Robin’s writing is so vivid that you will feel the breezes of Lake George and taste the delicious dishes from 518 Farm-to-Table as you read. Her balance between wit and passion will have you laughing and cheering for Lindsay and Marcus every step of the way.”

FAQ

  • Lyndsay Leach spent seventeen years supporting her celebrity-chef husband, but when he leaves her for a much younger woman, she makes a bold—and slightly petty—move: She takes the one thing he never thought she would, his prized Lake George restaurant.

There’s just one problem. She’s never run a kitchen, her secret writing career has stalled, and her first love just walked through the door and wants the head chef job. Okay, more than one problem.

Now, with her ex opening a rival restaurant right down the road and a scathing food critic on the way, Lyndsay has one shot to prove that she’s no longer a supporting character in someone else’s story—and maybe find love at the same time.

Because sometimes the second course is the one worth waiting for.
