About Me
Meet Robin!
Hi there, and welcome! I’m Robin, and if there is one thing I find more daunting than a blank page, it’s writing these “About Me” sections. Despite my aversion, it doesn’t seem you can be a writer and create a website without having one…so here goes nothing!
As a child…no, just kidding. Let’s at least jump up to college. I did my undergraduate work at Penn State, diving deep into French Language and Culture for my Bachelor’s degree. Not quite sure what I was going to do with said degree (living in Nice was off the table due to budgetary constraints), I decided to get my Master’s degree in Education from SUNY Albany.
For almost a decade, I taught high school and then trained teachers how to integrate technology in their classrooms, but kids and relocation led me to leave teaching behind.
Yes, I’ve moved a lot.
My life has been a whirlwind of adventures, moving across states and even continents with my husband, Blaine, and our two wonderful sons, Caleb and Grayson. We’ve called many places home, from New York to Iowa, Wisconsin, and even more exotic locales like Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Warsaw, Poland, not to mention Ohio and Texas. Nowadays, I split my time between Houston, Texas, and my happy place on Lake Hadlock in Upstate New York.
Writing has always been something I enjoyed. Throughout college, I took writing classes as electives as a way to maintain my creativity. While living abroad, I started blogging as a means to keep friends and family in the loop with our lives. It was in Poland that I ventured into content marketing, creating blogs, social media content, and emails for small businesses—a path I’m still happily trekking on today.
Beyond the clack of keys, my life is filled with travel, culinary adventures in the kitchen, and the simple joy of reading.
And here’s the exciting part: I’m currently working on my debut novel, set in Upstate New York in the Southern Adirondacks. This is where I grew up, and it has always had a special spot in my heart—no matter where I’ve wandered. This novel is my labor of love, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
