A Glimpse Into the Unfolding Story
Hello there! I’m Robin, and I’m thrilled to have you here, stepping into the realm where my thoughts become a story, and the story seeks to find a home in the hearts of readers like you. Writing has always been something I’ve loved, but writing a book is a new challenge for me. Don’t worry—I’m loving the ride, and I’m excited to share the journey with you.
I’m currently querying “Second Courses”—a women’s fiction novel with romantic elements. I will say that anyone who has read it can easily see the bits and pieces of me that I share within it and I love that! It is a contemporary women’s fiction novel with a strong romance component. Here’s my pitch for this novel:
Lyndsay Leach did not think, at age 53, she’d be trying to piece her life back together. But when her husband’s affair with his pastry chef is publicly exposed, leaving her adrift and single for the first time in over twenty years, that’s exactly what she has to do. Determined to prove she’s more than just a utensil for his culinary success, Lyndsay snatches his beloved restaurant in the divorce—despite not knowing the first thing about running it.
Balancing her secret (and struggling) writing career and her new role as a restaurateur, Lyndsay enlists the help of Marcus, her former high school boyfriend, now an accomplished chef, to lead the kitchen. But just as the restaurant becomes more passion project than revenge scheme, and things heat up with Marcus, Lyndsay’s ex has some revenge of his own planned. Lyndsay must navigate sabotage, betrayal, and her own self-doubt as her ex opens a competing restaurant nearby. Is she able to step outside of her comfort zone to rebuild her life? Because if she’s not, she could end up back at square one with a broken heart, financially ruined with a failed restaurant and writing career, and the lingering belief that she was always supposed to live in her ex’s shadow.
Additionally, I’m working on a second novel, once again set in the Southern Adirondack, but this time it’s more of a rom-com and set on a golf course! (And there’s another couple of ideas for books percolating in my brain that I just need some time to flesh out.)
